SINGLE ORIGIN | SINGLE ESTATE | CERTIFIED PDO | TRACEABLE EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL IN BPA FREE TINS | 1 LITER X 2 TINS

Ellora Farms olive oil is produced at source in the Kolymvari region of Crete, in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, where the olives go beyond a simple agricultural product to being a key ingredient in the life, culture and cuisine of the region.

It is here, in the municipality of Vouves, that the world’s oldest living olive tree of Vouves, estimated to be more than 3000 years old and still producing the prized olives, marks the history and emphasizes the importance of the olive oil for local farmers. With each passing year, perfect climate and soil conditions, in the Island of Crete, allow the olive trees to bear precious olive fruit. The olive fruit is harvested and sent directly to state of the art milling and processing facilities for immediate cold pressing and bottling. Low temperatures are applied to preserve the traditional flavor and quality of the olive oil.

We use “green” production methods and committed to a sustainable approach.

This olive oil has a peppery flavor and the fruitiness of a true Cretan Extra Virgin Olive Oil of which the origin and authenticity is certified by the EU standards. Ellora Farms has a plush, fruity bouquet and a singular peppery soupcon. Acidity and other inimical qualities are at near zero values due to special cultivation, selection, and extraction processes.

You can trace the origin and also where it was harvested and bottled. Each bottle or tin of Ellora Farms has a Lot number stamped on it where you can go to the Traceability Tree, type in your Lot number and trace.

Taste the difference and trace the history of single origin, single region, and ethically produced olive oil. For more information visit www.ellorafarms.com and watch our video on you-tube: http://bit.ly/Elloravideo

Great oil, some of the best This is a two pack of steel cans of olive oil. I like to buy oil in these cans–the light-proof container keeps the oil from going rancid a bit longer. The spout is clever–it’s the typical pull-up spout on oil cans but it has a screw cap. The oil is from Greece–Crete, reputed to be where some of the best Greek oil is grown on 1,000-year old trees. It’s single point-of-origin, unlike most grocery store oils, which are multiple origin oil, generally Tunisian, Italian and other oils. The problem is, Italians consume olive oil in larger quantities than they can produce, so a lot of cheaper exported oil is mixed with North African oil to make it available.

Excellent EVOO! This is probably the best EVOO I’ve ever tasted…. and I’ve tasted a lot of them. I almost never spend this much for Olive Oil, but I’ll make an exception in this case. Sometimes you’ve got to spend more for the best quality, and this is one of those times. I shared a can with my sister (who has lived in Greece, and who loves Greek Olive Oil) and she raved about it. If you want some wicked good EVOO, buy this product. I don’t know where you’ll find anything better than Ellora Farms.
